Vogue clippings provide underpinning for whimsical solo exhibition

I admire the art of high fashion and its highest level of craftsmanship. There is  a sense of gleeful achievement when I am able to turn this realm into a new creation.

I am fascinated by the sublime movement and subtle sensuality of the cut-outs that still give away the seductive bodies underneath, even when they are blended into layered, vivid abstract textures .

My creation process, at times challenging and labour intensive, involves solving a self-created puzzle. Finding the right collage piece and the right place on the textural painting is the solution.  This new series of work is a continuation of my quest to blur the boundaries between different media – this time on a much larger scale - in order to reach a sense of balance in the elements.
