collage art diet 2016 – week 12

Happy Easter everyone! I catch myself being influenced by seasons and occasions. I was gravitating towards egg forms and these bright spring colours. These pieces are also a bit more playful and bit more like the old me! I turned older last week.

Some news for fun or not. Last week I thought I had lost the books that contained all of these #collagediet works from December till now. I am talking about 150 pieces of work. I conducted a full on search in the studio and the house for three days. And they were no where to be found. I felt like I have lost a loved one. I kid you not! It was like funeral in my zone and I was about to announce my mourning on social media and organize a city-wide search party (have to insert a bit of drama here).  Just as I had completely given up, I find all the books neatly packed in a black canvas bag and hung on a clothes hanger (!!!) tucked between black winter coats in the closet. I have no recollection of how on earth I hung them there. The reunion involved screams of joy, some silly dance and feeling silly. At least, now I know how much I love these little suckers!

collage art diet 2016 – week 9

I am anxiously waiting for Spring even though there is no sign of its arrival yet. Moving away from greys and metallics of February, March is going to be about blue skies and bright Spring colors. Here are my three pieces for the first week of March.

I am still playing around with the idea of stitching the cut-outs into the paper and taking myself out of my comfort zone with the compositions.
